La Ville Su Naturel B&B

Breakfast alone would bring me back: Philippe made it himself, with plenty of sweet and savory choices, and it was the best hotel or B&B breakfast I've ever had. Our room was the best in the B&B, almost like a little apartment, and better than we expected. Philippe was kind, helpful, and gave us a level of care you don't often find. We'll definitely return.

We got around Lyon's main sights, Sunday market, and local dishes using the bus, metro, and tram with two-zone day passes. The place was cozy for a short winter stay, and parking was easy and secure. The owner was very friendly and made us an authentic French breakfast each morning. The shared kitchen had what we needed, and we could use the washing machine for a small fee. We hope to come back soon.

The location is a little outside central Lyon, but that didn't feel like a big issue in a city this size. What made the stay special was how much Philippe cares about Lyon and its local businesses. He knew the area well and got me excited to explore it. He greeted us warmly at the gate, showed us around, and arranged an early check-in since my friend and I had arrived early. We had booked just one night, 19 December 2025, but the place felt so cozy and homelike that we stayed a second night, on 20 December. The Ocean room was comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. There were plenty of sockets, a desk, reading lights, and even a Bluetooth speaker. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped too, which would be handy for a longer stay. The room and the service both felt far beyond what I'd expect from an ordinary hotel, with a real sense of local culture. Breakfast was a whole experience, with Philippe bringing the guests together and talking us through the food. He served fresh pastries, jams, cheese, cold cuts, coffee, and more, with a focus on natural, locally sourced products. His chocolate mousse was light and rich, the homemade yogurt thick and smooth, and the homemade jams tasted full of care. It was so impressive I forgot to take a photo. Guests can also buy his jams and honey. I really enjoyed learning a little about food culture in France that way. I was happy to support local businesses by staying here, and I'd gladly return when I'm in Lyon again. I think Philippe really likes hedgehogs 😂 Take care, Mr Philippe!
