Camping Les Bouleaux

There’s a little bar and a simple restaurant, which are nice extras. The site itself is basic, but it’s lovely and quiet out in the countryside, and the owner makes campers feel welcome with a smile and a sense of humour. It works well as a stop for Brits heading towards Strasbourg and southern Germany who want to avoid the autoroute that goes west to east and then turns south. If you’re after calm and simplicity, you might want to stay longer.

The pool and trampoline were a hit with our kids, but the bathrooms weren’t clean and some things were broken. Our pitch also smelled bad. We’d booked a week and left after two nights because of the problems, but couldn’t get a refund. The owner didn’t seem interested in hearing why we were leaving. It wasn’t a good stay for us. I’d suggest this place for a quick 1-2 night stop on the way somewhere else. Hope that helps others.

The staff were fantastic while we were stuck there for four days after our camoervam broke down. We had pitch B14, which was more sheltered than some of the others, and that was great in the heat. The facilities were good and the pool was lovely. It was an unplanned stay, but we were happy to be there and would stay again.

The play areas were good for the children, and the hosts were really friendly. We enjoyed our night and would recommend the place. The restaurant was good too, and the pool should be fabulous once it’s warm enough to take the covers off. The facilities are a bit tired, and there were some noisy trains and helicopters around.
