We were made to feel like friends by the owner, who was very kind and discreet. The hotel-restaurant is in a lovely village, and the food is good. Our room was roomy, though the bath and shower were awkward to use. The furniture was quite basic and the decor a little dated.

The towels still smelled of cooking after they were changed, and all five of us noticed it. Maybe the storage spot or laundry detergent could be changed. We only stayed one night on our way to our holiday, and found the rooms basic but the hotel itself very nice. The restaurant is worth recommending: simple, tasty food at a good price. Our one small downside was the manager repeatedly complaining about the guests. We understand she has a lot of work, but we were on holiday too.

The château setting has a huge sense of history, tucked into a 17th-century building. It really got the senses going and left me happy, "Et Sens Ciel" (And Senses Heaven), essential. :o) I had a wonderful night in this beautiful place. The restaurant deserves a mention too: the food was excellent and there was plenty of it. You don't often get both. The scallops I ordered were warm and full of flavor, which says a lot. I highly recommend this establishment.

There was only one person in the kitchen, yet the food was excellent. We got a wonderful welcome in an idyllic setting. It's a shame the place isn't busier outside peak season.
