Le Clos Vitis - Chambres d'hôtes et gite

We stayed two nights at Clos Vitis at the end of August 2022, and the whole experience left us uncomfortable and on edge. We wouldn't recommend the property and will never stay there again. On the second night, we bought groceries to make salad and wanted to eat outside. We prepared the vegetables in the kitchen they said we could use, then carried our two salads to the table in front of the pool. The owner immediately and very firmly told us we couldn't sit there, insisting we eat in our room or in the kitchen. That seemed strange since breakfast had been served to us in that same area that morning. We ate in the kitchen instead, rinsed our plates, and put them in the dishwasher. The next morning we were packed and ready to leave. We told the owner we had some rubbish from our room to throw away. Before showing us the outdoor bins, he made us follow him to the kitchen. He looked angry and didn't answer when we greeted him. He pointed at dishes soaking in the sink and asked if they were ours. We said no, since ours were in the dishwasher. We're not sure whether the dishwasher wasn't being used, and the whole interaction left us puzzled and very uncomfortable. They advertise the pool, dining area, outdoor seating, and kitchen facilities, but we definitely didn't feel welcome to use them. The owner didn't seem friendly or happy to have us as guests, and the tension stayed palpable throughout our stay.

This was my first visit, but definitely won't be my last. One of my favorite places, with good food, nature, and a wonderful pool. We'd highly recommend it for young and old. Hope we meet again soon, and thanks for having us.

A top B&B.

We felt at home from the first minute of our week-long stay. The rooms are lovingly furnished, the accommodation is beautiful, and the amenities are excellent. There's also a lovely pool. Breakfast was fresh and varied, and the evening menu left nothing to be desired. Laurence and Bertrand were incredibly friendly hosts and shared very helpful ideas for things to do nearby. They both speak excellent German. We're already looking forward to coming back.
