Hotel du Commerce

We stopped by for lunch and ordered drinks. When we said we’d share a small salad, the woman took my knife, fork and water glass away. That felt pretty rude. I’m surprised I was allowed to use the toilet! 🤣 The young waitress was lovely, though the manageress kept correcting her and seemed to be watching her closely. She should sort out her own faults before addressing her staff. I’d never return. Two stars for the toilets and the young waitress.

We were wandering through the village while on holiday and got a really warm welcome at this local restaurant. For three people, we had the Salad Collette and a sharing plate of local cheeses, ham and terrine, all fabulous. We tried three of the four main courses, and each was lovely. The pork and lightly curried squid were especially good. The local beer and Cote D'Auvergne vin Rouge were fantastic too. C'est tres bon Merci!

The family room was a bit snug for two adults and two teenagers, though the bathroom was great and the beds were more than fine. It’s a decent little hotel right in the city centre. At night, you can hear the nearby church bells marking the time. The breakfast is worth having, and the staff are very friendly.

We found a very clean, comfortable hotel with friendly, efficient staff and a good restaurant. Breakfast is worth trying too, with lots of choice and enough to suit everyone.
