Had a nice trip with my family!

The staff really are friendly, but unfortunately the place wasn't being looked after well. There was dust, cobwebs everywhere and unwashed dishes. The furniture felt flimsy, and the finish was poor. We found a hole concealed under carpet, with grass visible underneath. In the bathroom, the walls were painted reconstituted wood panels that should at least have been plastered. The beams weren't painted either, and you could see the glue where the bathroom joined the bus. The beds were doubles, but each had two single mattresses. That's not a problem by itself, but ours weren't the same: one was firm and the other soft. The English bus is unusual, and apparently one of only three in France, but our stay didn't meet expectations. Breakfast was okay, though on the first day there were six croissants for five of us, and on the second there were only four. It was a bit of a logistical issue. Still, thank you for the stay.

The caravans were comfortable for the one night we stayed, and the spot beside the Deûle River is lovely and quiet. We had a very good weekend overall. A couple of small things didn't go so well. Although there was a large barrier, we couldn't drive in to unload the car, so we had to haul our stuff over grass and gravel on carts with torn wheels. The barbecue we rented for €15 looked like it had survived both World Wars. When I raised these complaints, the owner seemed to think it was all normal.

For my bachelorette party, six of us slept in the English bus, and it was a lovely surprise. I was worried we'd be cold, but it had been heated before we got there. The English decor made it feel like home, and the bathroom and kitchen were clean. Breakfast was lovely too, thank you! I hadn't known about the place before, but I'll be telling people about it 😊
