Station House

The room itself was usable, with a good sofa and a desk, and the sheets and towels were clean, though old. The main bathroom is dated and has a tiny sink, but it does the job. There are two shared bathrooms, though I’m not sure the second one really counts: you have to bend around the sink to wipe yourself, and there’s a small space with a cut-off stink pipe in the corner. I’m unsure if it meets building regs. I hadn’t realised the bathroom was shared or I wouldn’t have chosen the place. The blinds should do a better job of keeping the sun out, and you can hear everyone coming and going. Other people got up at 5:30 and woke me, though I can’t blame them. It reminded me of a student house.

The owner left us breakfast, and the location was really convenient, close to both the station and town centre. It’s a traditional English house with big windows and a fireplace. But the house smelled of mould, and the bed was too short to stretch out in if you’re a bit taller than average.

There’s a nice garden at the back, and the location is well connected. Breakfast is provided, along with coffee, tea, and everything else. I brought my own travel kit but didn’t need to use it. Room service comes every day. It’s amazing accommodation and feels worth the money whether you stay one day or a week.

A perfectly good B&B, warm, clean, and tidy. You get your own key and can use the kitchen to cook your meals. Breakfast is help yourself in the morning. All good.
