We first went on 13 February and had such a good time: lovely place, great food, and staff who were friendly and attentive. We’re staying nearby this time, but the rooms look nice, and it’d be handy to wander back after dinner and a couple of drinks. We’ll definitely come again and would thoroughly recommend it. 👍👍👍

Our wedding meal here was exactly the relaxed, intimate, stress-free day we’d hoped for. Everyone enjoyed the food, and our room was really comfortable. The staff were friendly and always ready to help. Thanks to the whole The Boatside Inn crew for being part of our day. I’d certainly stay again.

We stopped in for lunch on Saturday, not overnight. Both the fish and gammon were delicious and cooked just right, so the slightly higher price felt worth it. Service was quick and friendly, and the setting looks lovely for a walk. We’ll be back.

This was our second stay, and the room was again comfortable, clean and nicely presented, with everything we needed for a short visit. The pub serves good food, and the beer garden is a pleasant spot to relax in the sun. We haven’t sampled breakfast, so can’t comment on it. Good for getting to Hexham and the surrounding countryside.

We went at 13.15 on a Wednesday in late January and couldn’t get a table, even though the restaurant looked empty. The owners did say it’s probably busier on Sundays, but I was surprised there was no availability. Booking ahead seems sensible.
