The garden was a real highlight, especially the lovely views over the moors and Slaithes and that gorgeous cedar tree. We spent a week here with six adults and four children, and there was plenty of countryside nearby, plus the coast, fish and chips and ice cream. We took local buses to Whitby and Sandsend and tried the nearby railways, including the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and Eskdale line. Back at the house, we cooked every day in the great kitchen and ate in the dining room. My eldest granddaughter even beat me at pool! A wonderful holiday in a historic home with modern comforts. The children had a lovely big garden to play in and plenty of space in the house to roam safely. There was lots for everyone to do, including the dartboard and pool table, which got plenty of use. The kitchen was well equipped, with a large dining room right beside it. We’ve just had another week at Aislaby hall, and it’s a lovely, roomy house. The owners are friendly and helpful, and it’s good value. We’ll definitely be back next year.
