Simerock Guest House

Gill came to our rescue after fog canceled our flight. She and Steve gave us great service. The room was clean, had everything we needed, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great too. A fantastic stay!

Our flight delay left us needing emergency accommodation, and they managed to fit our party of seven into one triple room and two twin rooms. They were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was included and great. The airline covered the bill, but I thought the rates were good.

Jill even went to the airfield to bring us the things we'd forgotten, which was service above and beyond. The rooms were quiet, spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The showers were hot and powerful, breakfast was very good, and the landlady was friendly, lovely, and so helpful. Many thanks.

The place looks lovely, but check which island you're booking on. The address made me think it was on Guernsey, when it's actually on another nearby island. I'm not from that part of the world, and didn't realize until I tried to rent a car. That's my mistake, but I booked months ahead and tried to cancel the very same day I made the booking, as soon as I noticed. They're only refunding half, even though I contacted them politely and personally. They'll still be able to book someone else for that night since we won't be there. EDIT: They say they never received a written cancellation request, but that's because Hotels.com was in the process of contacting them for me. After they refused the full refund, I formally canceled. It feels like a money grab. If I planned another trip here, I'd stay somewhere else.
