The rooms were very clean, well equipped and laid out, and every member of staff was polite, friendly and ready to help. The hotel is in a great spot for visiting the Peak District. We stayed between Christmas and New Year on a Wowcher deal for two nights, with breakfast both mornings, dinner on the first evening and a bottle of wine. The evening menu was limited because of the time of year. The food was nice, though nothing special, about what I’d expect from a chain hotel. Our only real downside was the bed. It was a good quality bed, but much firmer than we’re used to, so we didn’t sleep as well as we’d hoped. That’s personal preference, and plenty of people may like a firm mattress. For the Wowcher price, we’d definitely stay again.

I stayed one night for a business trip. From outside, the hotel looks a little 1990s, but inside and in the rooms it was surprisingly modern and really nice. Both dinner and breakfast at the on-site restaurant were tasty, and reasonably priced. There’s plenty of parking, plus EV charging. Ionity rapid chargers are in a corner, along with around six 22 kW AC chargers nearer the hotel. Those are a bit cheaper and handy for overnight charging, and can be used with Octopus Electroverse.

The breakfast is fantastic and well worth the money. The breakfast team were brilliant and so helpful. Another great stay, thanks to the attentive staff who are always willing to go the extra mile. Thanks to Roy and his colleague for checking us in.

The breakfast staff were friendly, with lots of choices, and they’ll cook poached eggs to order. Parking is easy, spacious and plentiful. Our room was clean and had lots of facilities. The shower gel, shampoo and hand wash were wonderful. Welcoming staff too. I’d definitely stay again.

We booked a Travelzoo deal. Cheap and cheerful, though the bathroom is getting close to needing a makeover. Dinner was excellent and breakfast was good, with plenty to choose from. It’s buffet-style, though, so it wasn’t as hot as we like.
