The place smelled odd when we got inside, and parts of the ceiling were coming down. Nobody was there to explain where to park, and the rooms badly need updating. The wallpaper and other things were peeling off the walls. The kettle was black inside. Getting in and out of the shower was awkward because the sink was right beside its door. The beds were very uncomfortable, and the pillows had hardly any filling. Every time I moved, I worried the bed might collapse on us.

We had a brilliant holiday here with our dog, who loved it just as much as we did. We’ll definitely come back.

We were booked into the ground-floor purple room with a garden, but it was in poor shape. There was rubbish outside, the pull-out bed left no room to move, and food from the previous guest was still in the fridge. It was dirty.

For one inexpensive night it was alright, clean and fairly comfortable. The bathroom floor needs a major upgrade: the stuck-down tiles have shrunk and are starting to lift.
