Beds and rooms were comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly and kept checking we were okay. For £20 per person, we got a buffet at night and breakfast in the morning, with tea, coffee and orange juice. Breakfast had egg, sausage, bacon, beans and grilled tomato. There's a bar too, with very cheap drinks and entertainment at night.

The room smelled like bad eggs, the carpet had lumps with its grips showing, and the door lock was loose. The mattress felt like a bed of nails, with springs digging in. After three nights, I'm still suffering at home. We wanted to move, but there were no vacancies elsewhere. Breakfast was a mess for us as a couple. They seated us with a large family, leaving no room to move. They did everything for that family, while we waited and waited without coffee or toast. When the cold breakfast finally came, we couldn't eat in the cramped space, and nothing else followed. At checkout I told Neil and Sylvia. Sylvia called me a liar and laughed in my face. Why would I lie? Neil was really nice, apologised, and offered to make something for us, but by then it was too late and we were going to a cafe. I was too angry to stay any longer. If you're in a group, it might be okay, but if you're just a couple, forget it. Very bad management. We will not stay here again.

We enjoyed the nice rooms, included breakfast and great location. The owners were very welcoming and friendly, and we'll be booking to come back soon.

Really good hotel for the price, with a good English breakfast and very friendly staff. Highly recommended.
