Ambleside Salutation Hotel & Spa

It was the staff who made the stay special. They were attentive and helpful throughout, and great with our young children. Our room was a good size and well appointed, and the hotel was very clean. We had breakfast and dinner during our three days there, and both were very good. The bar area is nice, and the pool and spa facilities are comfortable too. We’ll be back soon.

The area was lovely, and I’d definitely visit again. At the hotel, staff were polite and helpful, and breakfast and dinner had plenty of fresh, delicious choices. Our room was amazing and clean. I especially liked the room sauna and jacuzzi, which they cleaned every day.

Manuel and the breakfast team were brilliant with our 8 month old pup, making a big fuss of him and even bringing him sausages for breakfast. Reception were welcoming and helpful as well. When we had to leave a day early, the hotel understood and offered to cancel the final night’s charge, even though they could have charged us. That service, and how dog friendly they are, means we’ll definitely return. The downstairs areas and spa are really nice. Our dog friendly double with balcony was a reasonable size, though the room itself felt a bit dated. The whirlpool bath was a nice surprise. The balcony isn’t fully enclosed, so we had to keep our dog on a lead to stop him slipping between the open partitions. That may not be a problem with an older dog.

The location made it easy to explore Ambleside, and breakfast was outstanding. We spent two nights at the Salutation Spa Hotel for my wife’s birthday, and everything was just right. The rooms were spotless and the staff incredibly friendly. We’ll definitely come back.
