The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the staff were so warm and friendly. When they noticed our heavy bags, they kindly carried them upstairs, which really touched us. I’m from Taiwan, and this was my first visit to the UK and the Lake District. I’m very happy with the hotel we chose and with our stay. If I get the chance to return to the Lake District, I’d choose this hotel again.

We had a lovely one night stay with friends. The hotel was spotless, our rooms were beautiful, and the staff were friendly. Outside, the Christmas lights made the place feel especially warm and welcoming. Breakfast had absolutely everything you could want, and it was one of the best we’ve had in the Lakes. We’ll definitely return. We’ve told all our friends to book here if they want a clean, friendly place and a great breakfast in Ambleside. Happy customers, Mrs Lord.

Everything was immaculate and high quality, and breakfast set us up nicely before a long hike. We had a beautiful stay here, and I can’t recommend it enough.

I’ve come back because it’s the best value for money, with lovely staff and rooms that are just right. Breakfast is great too, though on this visit it was a little smaller and not quite as good. I’d pick this over any other hotel, as I don’t want to spend more on a Lakes trip than I would on a holiday to Spain. Highly recommend.

The hotel is nice and reasonably priced, and I’ve stayed several times. The main problem for me is the noise in the rooms at the back. A loud rumbling woke me every night. Parking can also be a nightmare, made worse by neighbours who seem passive aggressive about cars being even an inch outside a marked bay. Breakfast was acceptable, but nothing special.
