We booked a last-minute weekend away and got just what we wanted. Meg and John were so welcoming, gave us helpful information about local walks and pubs, and provided amazing service. The rooms were clean and spacious, the location was great, and breakfast was superb. Mia, their gorgeous dog, was a lovely bonus. We couldn't fault the stay and would definitely recommend it. We hope to come back soon.

The place was spotless and very well presented, from the shared areas to our room. Meg and John were genuinely lovely and welcoming, and breakfast had plenty of choice both mornings. We also appreciated the parking permit and reliable internet. I really couldn't have asked for more during our two-night stay at Compston House B&B, and hope to return.

Meg and John were fabulous hosts, and the welcome was fantastic. My room was clean and comfortable, with tea and coffee facilities. There was a shower issue in the morning, but it was dealt with quickly. I was told that room hadn't been upgraded yet, though a lot of renovation work has been done since 2017. The hotel's interior and lounge were lovely, and the carpet throughout looked immaculate and new. Breakfast was very satisfying, with lots of choice and table service. I stayed one midweek night and, despite part of the King St car park being sectioned off that day, got the last free space using the hotel's permit. A very pleasant, comfortable stay in a great location. I can't wait to return.

Megan and John make you feel so welcome at their 5star B&B, and the breakfast is the best I've had in the Lake District.
