The Old School House

The bed in the old school house was large and comfortable, and the shower was the best ever. It’s a short walk into the village, where there are plenty of places to eat. The lake side is also not far away in the opposite direction. We had a lovely stay.

Breakfast has plenty of options, and the full English was very good quality. The fried egg even had an orange yolk. In the breakfast room there’s an open fire that smells incredible, and the lounge has comfortable chairs and a sofa alongside a log burner. Emma & Mark made our stay absolutely delightful. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean, with fabulously comfortable beds and phenomenally plump pillows and cushions. The bathroom was spotless, with hand wash, body lotion, body wash and shampoo provided. The towels were huge and so fluffy. We’ve just returned from the most amazing stay and can’t wait to visit again in warmer weather.

Mark and Emma took great care of us, and this was a great little find. We stayed in the Coleridge room, which was extremely clean and very spacious. After a vigorous walk, the two small upholstered chairs were just what we needed. The large, comfortable bed made for a good night’s sleep. There was an electric shower with plenty of hot water, plus shower gel, shampoo and hand soap. Tea and coffee were available in the room too. Breakfast was cooked to order, with several choices.

A clean, cosy B&B in a quiet spot that’s still central. The hosts were brilliant, and breakfast was fantastic. I’d definitely recommend it and will definitely come back.
