Rowanbank House

I got in at 10:30pm on a last minute search for somewhere to stay while travelling up from London to the Isle of Harris. Parking was right outside, and access was self service. My room was perfect, large and spacious, with a perfect bed, duvet and pillow combination. Wi-Fi was great, and it was so quiet that I had the best night's sleep I've had in ages. It's a charming old Victorian house full of character, just a few minutes' walk down the street from the town centre. If you want some incredible late night fish and chips on the way, try Memet's in nearby Gretna. They were some of the best I've had!

The room was beautiful, clean and warm, and the owners were lovely. I accidentally booked the wrong date, but they were able to accommodate us. Tea, coffee and toast were complimentary, and it's only a few minutes' walk to the highstreet. I'd definitely recommend it.

The room was spacious and spotless, with a good shower and a comfy bed. The owner and staff are really friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good. Parking was easy on the quiet road beside the property, and it's just a couple of minutes' walk to pubs and restaurants. A really nice place to stay and excellent value. I'd use it again if I were in the area.

We stayed as part of a golf trip, and Angela gave us exemplary service. She's a perfect host, and the rooms and ensuites were spotless. The centre of town is a short walk away, with easy access to the Solway coast and the wider Dumfriesshire and Wigtownshire area. The complimentary tea, coffee, toast and preserves were a great start to the day. There are lots of full breakfast options in town, only two minutes away. We'll be back!
