Premier Inn Ashington

The only drawback was the car park, which has quite a few potholes and rough patches, so a low car might struggle. There’s plenty of parking, though. Our room was clean, modern and comfortable, and good value for the price, with a lovely view over the lake. The staff were very friendly and glad to help with anything we needed.

We booked online just ten minutes before arriving for a last-minute Mother’s Day meal with my partner and kids. The staff were incredibly accommodating. Our host Reece was especially friendly and polite, and couldn’t have been nicer. Great service and great food.

We booked a lake-view room and got a lovely snowy scene while we were there. The location is great, breakfast was good, and the bed was very comfy. The room looked a bit dated, but we paid £73 for two nights in January 2026, so it was excellent value. It’s the usual clean, comfortable standard I expect from a Premier Inn. Some older photos show a playground outside the restaurant next door, but that’s gone. There’s soft play inside the restaurant now. It’s a little worn, but kept the kids busy for an hour after breakfast.

The room was spacious, with air conditioning that was very welcome on a warm September evening. The bathroom was spotless and had an excellent shower, and the bed was almost too comfortable to leave. Reception staff were friendly and enjoyed a chat. We also had drinks in the bar on Saturday evening, reasonably priced and served by pleasant staff. This was my third stay at the Premier Inn in Ashington, and it was as good as the previous two. We’ll be back next year for the annual charity event we take part in.
