The eat-in area could use some care, and the toilets were filthy. In the gents, the hand dryer looked as though it hadn't been cleaned for ages, with body fat and soap scum inside it, and the floor and urinals were dirty too. I know this spot gets especially busy during half term and needs more staff, but that should have been expected. The Greggs staff probably aren't to blame, though the person on duty seemed flustered. Holiday crowds can leave food all over the floor and everywhere else, with people focused on their own families.

I covered this place on my YouTube channel, @Wanderlustbini, for anyone wanting more details. We got stuck at check-in because nobody was there to meet us, and the instructions sent us to a reception that doesn't exist. The phone number we were given didn't work either. After two hours of calls through the hotel provider we booked with, we gave up. We did get an email while on the way, but there was no urgent call, just a message saying to get a key from the petrol station. The organisation wasn't very professional, though it seems like a decent budget stay in a good location along the route.

The damp, mouldy smell in the room and the heating being off for the night made our stay miserable. We spent the night in conditions that felt inhumane, and this really shouldn't happen in 2025. The so-called hospitality left us with a bad cold and needing medication. It certainly wasn't worth it. If you care about your wellbeing, avoid this place. Never again.

With the Eype restaurant area near Bridport now closed, it was handy to find a shop and takeaway with toilets at Kilmington.
