We came to the pub to watch the Rugby, but left disappointed. Local customers had taken the high table right in front of the screen, leaving only low seats at the back where we couldn’t see, whether standing or sitting. When asked why we were going, we explained we couldn’t see the screen, but nobody in the room tried to help us stay and watch the match. A real shame.

The room was spotless and just right for our one-night visit to family in Oxford, and the pub food was lovely, with good portions and generally locally sourced. The staff were all lovely, and very graciously gave us a full refund, which we hadn’t asked for and really appreciated. The organisation let the stay down. Nobody told us there’d be an 18th birthday party that night. If we’d known, we wouldn’t have stayed. The bass from the music made putting our 2 year old to bed a nightmare. She eventually fell asleep from sheer exhaustion. We’d booked breakfast for 8.30, but were told they expected us at 9. They also thought we were staying for two nights instead of one.

We had a table for 14 for a birthday Sunday roast. The food was top notch, and the service was just as good. Highly recommend.

The location was beautiful, but the service and food were awful. Our waiter was rude and acted like we were a nuisance. He didn’t bring our drinks, then behaved as though we’d never ordered them when I politely asked. The food came out wrong, and the Sunday roast wasn’t nice at all. We felt uncomfortable, paid 60 quid for food nobody ate, and were treated rudely. Such a disappointing Father's Day.

A delicious meal and outstanding service. They made us feel so welcome. Thank you!
