The Sleep Lodge

The view from the window was amazing, and the location was perfect. We stayed a couple of nights and were really pleased with the accommodation. The bed was large and comfortable, with two ziplock mattresses, and everything was very clean and tidy. Parking is snug, and the Wi-Fi is only adequate, but I'd still highly recommend it.

The shower was fantastic, and the lodge would work well for walkers. Rooms come in blocks of four, so small groups can stay together. They're a decent size, and everywhere was clean. Parking is tight. The rooms are a little dated and could use a few touch-ups, but the fresh bedding and towels, welcoming feel, and clean smell made them inviting. I'd consider staying here again when visiting the region.

Suite 9 Ben Saunders had a beautiful view over Bakewell, and the whole stay was faultless. The easy check-in involved calling on arrival, then someone greeted us, showed us the parking and bike storage, and took us to the room. It had everything we needed for a short break, including a kitchenette for making our own breakfasts. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the blinds kept out the morning light, and there was plenty of shelf space in the bathroom, something so many hotels get wrong. Superb boutique accommodation for a great price.

The lodge was OK, and the bed was comfortable, but getting into the shower was a little awkward. The microwave wasn't safe to use. It kept cutting out, started alarming, and then stopped working altogether. The lodge is a steep uphill walk from town, and the road to the car park is narrow with parked cars. Breakfast can't be brought to the room before 9am.
