This place is a gem. On a very hot day, a polite young man served me a pint in a clean glass. It was the best cider I’ve had in a seaside town for a while. The service was clean and friendly, and the little outside seating area was perfect in the heat. I found people elsewhere in Barmouth rude, so this really stood out. Recommend 100%.

The room was lovely and breakfast was a really nice fry-up. The seagulls were loud and there were lots of them, so luckily we’d brought our own earplugs. It might be a nice idea to offer some to guests. We’ll come back if we’re in the area again.

Avoid. We ordered the sharing combo and weren’t impressed. The chips were barely cooked and still hard, and the mushrooms were rock hard too. The sharer for two came with only three ribs, even though the menu describes half a rack, which suggests at least six. They were so overdone that the meat was as hard as the bones, and we couldn’t eat them. Won’t be back! B
