Kentisbury Grange

Mark and the whole team made our visit memorable, from the bar staff to the breakfast team. Everyone was welcoming and attentive throughout our stay at Kentisbury Grange. The accommodation was beautiful, spotless and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The setting was peaceful and stunning, a great place to unwind from everyday life. We enjoyed every moment and will definitely return. Highly recommend it.

We felt underwhelmed for the price. On the first day, there wasn’t enough hot water or heating. The next day, the restaurant had run out of several dishes, ingredients and wines we liked. On day three the restaurant coffee machine was broken, delaying breakfast by 20 minutes when we were hoping to leave quickly. The mattress was uncomfortable and the bathroom blind very unclean. Nothing was disastrous, but the place felt understaffed and overpriced, and we wouldn’t recommend it as things are now. It has potential, though we felt the current management and staff were under-skilled.

I had a lovely stay in the lodge, which was clean, private and comfortable, with friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. The hot tub was great. Still, I felt there should be more amenities for the price. Even in a couples’ lodge, a microwave would be useful, and it was disappointing not to have complimentary water. Not everyone wants to eat at the restaurant, and guests should be able to bring food and warm it up. There was a coffee machine, but no water, tap, sink or mugs, so I didn’t see the point of it. It felt quite expensive for what you get.

A good place for either a weekend away or a work stay. The staff are wonderful, and there’s a restaurant with a proper chef on site, a changing menu of real food with different flavours, and a few beers and ciders on tap. Friday Latin nights add a bit of fun. In winter, or after spring rain, there are cosy fires to sit by. I work in town and look forward to bringing my bride back on holiday so she can enjoy the gardens.
