The seven-course tasting menu was a real highlight. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented, and hearing different members of the chef’s team explain the ingredients and combinations made it even more interesting. There was a fantastic wine selection too, and the sommelier knew their stuff and chose a perfect match. The Queensbury was peaceful in the evenings, although close to the historic places we wanted to see. The lounge and bar had a relaxed feel, the rooms were spacious, spotless and excellent throughout, and breakfast had plenty of choice for everyone. Staff were attentive and often anticipated what we needed. We all had a fantastic weekend, and I’d highly recommend the hotel to anyone staying in Bath.

The turndown was the most disappointing part of our stay. The bed hadn’t been properly made ready, the room hadn’t been reset for the evening, and the service felt so rushed and careless that it made us laugh. At this price, I’d expect the bed prepared, curtains drawn, bins emptied and towels refreshed. The service added nothing to the stay. See pictures. The hotel itself is basic but has what you need for a comfortable stay. The room’s heating and air conditioning worked well, and the modern bathrooms were nicely designed with a high-quality finish. Still, the price feels high for the accommodation, possibly because of the Michelin-starred restaurant downstairs. The stairs are also very creaky and seem to need maintenance. Functional and no-frills, but it didn’t meet the expectations set by the price.

We really liked the building’s character and its warm, traditional feel. Our room was spacious, tidy, clean and comfortable, and the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. The hotel is quiet enough to relax in but only a short walk from Bath’s main sights. Valet parking is well worth considering if you’re bringing a car. We’d happily come back and recommend it.

We finished a long vacation with a stay at the Queensbury and were very pleased. The staff were incredibly helpful, the room was comfortable, and the hotel made a good base for exploring Bath. I’d recommend it if you want a boutique luxury stay. A few useful things to know: booking on the hotel website may get you a better deal, with extra perks for Queensberry Club members. If you’re arriving by car, arrange valet parking when you book. Street parking isn’t reliable, and city garages aren’t really cheaper. The basement restaurant, The Olive Tree, is worth a visit for fine dining, and hotel guests get 10% off, with the meal added to the bill at checkout. The walk from the train station is reasonable, but it’s uphill, so consider how much luggage you’ll have. If I visit Bath again, I’d book the Queesberry first.

The Olive Tree restaurant was fantastic, and we could walk to all the main attractions around town. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were attentive and professional, the traditionally decorated rooms were lovely, and the location worked very well. There’s some street parking, or you can use the valet. We’ll stay here again when we return to Bath.
