We paid £9.90 for 24 hours of on-site parking, which seemed reasonable. The hotel was clean and tidy, as you'd expect at a Travelodge, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We took an Uber to visit beautiful Bath, about £14 for both trips, and enjoyed every minute. I skipped the Roman Baths because £25 felt too pricey for me. I'd recommend Travelodge Bath Waterside if you're going. It's just outside the centre but walkable, and a ride in isn't too expensive.

The room was quiet, the bed comfy and the staff helpful. Parking was reasonably priced, and we felt safe walking the short distances. The location worked really well for us, close to both the train station and the Bath Forum. We were two friends meeting for a concert, one driving a long way and the other coming by train.

The location is good, the rooms aren't bad, and we like the added convenience of the car park. We returned to the Travelodge Bath because we'd received money off in 2024 after the same sort of staffing problems. Back then they didn't even have enough staff to open the bar and brought in agency security to help their one employee. This visit was much the same, and it's a shame. The hotel was badly understaffed. One person was handling check-ins and the bar, so everything was very slow. On Friday evening, the only food available was pizza. Breakfast on the first morning was only lukewarm. At the bar, a small canned cocktail cost £8.50, and it was very busy both evenings. It seems like the bar makes enough money to hire another person. One of us went to the bar for coffee and was told the machine wasn't working, and to use the machine in the dining area. We did, but a more senior staff member challenged us about helping ourselves. We explained that an employee had directed us there and was with us, and were then told that employee had lied about the bar machine being broken. We'd rather not hear about what goes on behind the scenes. At breakfast, there were no beans, bacon, hash browns, butter or yogurts. We had to clean our own tables and find cutlery. Each time we picked up a salt pot, we had to ask for one with salt. They just moved the pots around instead of refilling them. It took 55mins to get what we wanted from the breakfast we'd already paid for, and we ate it in bits as things came. The cups had lots of marks inside from previous use. Our room was clean and comfortable, but the soap dispenser leaked, with tissue underneath to catch it. On the last morning I quietly raised our weekend concerns with the assistant manager and was completely shut down. They said it wasn't normally like this because staff had called in sick.

Parking is a real plus here for anyone with a car, even with a small daily charge. The location makes getting into Bath easy for the price, and the reception area is spacious. The beds were comfortable, the mattress especially, and they provided basic tea-making supplies. The hotel was good value for Bath, and we still enjoyed our stay. We'd stay again if staff had more time and support. Many thanks to the service team over the December holiday. The rooms let things down during our Christmas break. Around Christmas, staffing was low, and we thought the ground-floor rooms were in heavy rotation and possibly treated carelessly by some guests. The walls and fittings were aged and dirty, which was disappointing.

I was pleased with the comfortable bed and appreciated having a bath in my room. On my previous visit at the start of January 2026, I gave this place 4/5. I stayed again on 27th January and this time would give it 2/5. There was no restaurant available that evening, and the hotel was very short staffed. I felt sorry for Charlotte on reception, who was trying her best and must have been very busy because of the staffing situation. Both lifts were out of order, and one had also been broken on my first stay.
