There’s plenty to do around here, with lots of good pubs nearby. I’d especially recommend the queen's head inn icklesham, the cock Inn Beckley and William the conqueror in rye Harbour. The house itself is lovely, with comfy beds and a garden offering lots of seating. It can be hard to keep the temperature comfortable, though, and the house gets too hot or too cold. Watch out for the hot taps, as they’re far too hot, and some don’t have mixers.

We were left undisturbed for our three nights in August 2024, aside from the occasional bark from the neighbour’s dog. The house was very clean, and we enjoyed its cosy character with our family. There’s outdoor seating and useful kitchenware, though a few more matching glasses would be nice. It’s handy if you have a car, with Ashford not too far away and Rye about a 15 minute drive. There are plenty of good pubs nearby too.

The garden is completely dog proof, and the owners are quick to respond. WiFi and phone reception are great if you need to work from home. We’ve just had a lovely week at Six Acres. The photos don’t do it justice; the house is stunning and spacious, with a homely feel that still manages to be exceptionally clean. The beds are really comfortable, and all the towels and linen were super clean. Highly recommend.

The place has a few quirks, which give it some charm. It’s large, comfortable, clean and well equipped. I’ve only been here for less than 24 hours of my 7-day holiday, but I’m impressed so far. I’ll add more later.
