The Old Stables

It’s easy to see why they have AA 5 Stars, well deserved. The rooms are lovely and well kept, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the breakfasts are superb. The hosts were friendly and full of useful local information. We had a great time touring the area, and the house is conveniently situated in the village beside the free Market Cross parking area.

Our hosts were fabulous and knew the area well. Nothing was too much trouble, and we’re looking forward to coming back. The Green room was lovely, very clean and had everything we needed. It’s also well placed for getting to pretty much everywhere, and fantastic value for money.

We were shown straight to our room when we arrived, where there was homemade Lemon drizzle cake, locally produced Mead, fresh water, tea and coffee. The toiletries were a lovely selection, and they’d also thought of a hairdryer, shoe polish kit, sewing kit and cosy housecoats. Everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished, and breakfast was delicious. We stayed two nights and couldn’t have asked for better service from the owners. I can’t praise this place enough.

The room was spacious and lovely, and you can tell Steve and Amanda take pride in the house. They’re wonderful hosts, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order. After two nights here, I can honestly say it’s a beautiful bed and breakfast. Thanks for a brilliant stay, I’d highly recommend it.
