Popping into the horn and trumpet on a Friday night on my way home is the highlight of my week 🔥🎺 The fire makes it so cosy, almost like being at home. Staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble, and the locals and regulars are always a pleasure to chat with. Most of the staff have been there ages and clearly enjoy their work. I often see the owners having a drink with the locals too.

This is an old-fashioned pub with decent rooms, good value and a spot right in the middle of town. It gets five stars from me for being what it is and doing it well. If you’re expecting a true five-star hotel, jog on. The only thing missing was breakfast, though there are places in town for that. This was our second stay and we’ll be back 😎👍👍

Clean and tidy, with great service and staff always on hand. Highly recommend. 5 🌟

Avoid room three on a Friday or Saturday night. The live music was so loud that the furniture shook, and you couldn’t hear the TV. We had to go out because it was so awful. When we got back, a staff member offered us a quieter room for Saturday, saying the music would go on until midnight. We agreed to pack and move the next afternoon, since they said we couldn’t move in the morning, and were assured the room would be held for us. Friday’s music ended at 10.15pm; it was still noisy until midnight, but then only at the level you might expect above a pub. The next afternoon, we went to change rooms as arranged, only to be told the new room was just as loud and that, since it hadn’t been blocked off, someone else had booked it. They offered 40 pounds off the bill and said the music was a singer with a guitar that would finish around 10pm. That wasn’t true: it was a disco that went until midnight, and the room vibrated the whole time. We tried to make the best of it and went downstairs to dance, but it was genuinely just as loud there as in our room. We’re pretty relaxed about noise, and I’ve lived in flats above restaurants and a student union, but I’ve never experienced anything like this. What should have been a relaxing break turned into an endurance test, and we left frazzled and exhausted instead of recharged. The worst part was being messed about and given conflicting stories. A third staff member later said room three was awful for noise and no wonder we were struggling. Until then, the three people we’d dealt with had been very nice. Then a fourth came over and asked what we expected staying above a pub on a Saturday night. A shame, because Bewdley is lovely and the room itself was clean and cosy. Trying to get away from the noise, we visited most of the other pubs in town, and they were all very nice, especially the White Hart just over the road and the Little Pack Horse.

A welcoming, friendly pub at the heart of Bewdley, with a real community feel and a sense of bringing people together.
