I paid £46 for the night of 14 February 2026, but the conditions were so bad I couldn’t stay even one night. I left straight away and had to book somewhere else, losing my money and my peace of mind. The experience upset me so much I started crying. I’ve never stayed somewhere so dirty and uncomfortable, and it was distressing both emotionally and physically. The room was shockingly dirty and poorly maintained, with unhygienic conditions and damaged furniture. It felt unsafe and frightening. The bathroom was even worse, with a strong, unbearable smell, and it clearly hadn’t been cleaned or looked after properly. I felt physically unwell. I strongly believe this hotel doesn’t meet basic hygiene or safety standards, and I’d never recommend it. Guests deserve cleanliness, safety, and respect, none of which I got. This was one of the worst hotel experiences of my life.

The beds were nice and the staff were good, and if you like paintings, this is your place. But the room floor was soaking wet when we first went in, and now our clothes stink and are wet. There was no towel provided. The toilets were pretty crap, with no toilet paper, and the showers were dirty. The toilets and that weird wet carpet really let it down.

We didn’t even stay the night. The mouldy bathroom was somewhere I wouldn’t shower, the beds were dirty, and the sheets hadn’t been cleaned. There was a horrible, overpowering smell of damp and smoke. We booked another hotel and left within 15 minutes. I’ll be reporting them to the authorities and really hope nobody stays there again. Even the reception area wasn’t clean. The receptionist wasn’t great, and although we arrived before check-in closed, she made us feel late. The door code was written on a piece of paper anyone could have found. This place was disgusting. If I could give it no stars, I would.

There were noisy arguments from nearby residents at 2am, the outside space was a joke, and no breakfast was provided. The hot drink facilities were poor too. The building needs to be condemned. It was an utterly dreadful night, and I’ll never repeat it. The internet search had 45 photos and made the hotel look reasonable, but it must have gone downhill badly in the last two years. The room was awful, with poor bedclothes and mattress. Shared bathrooms were appalling: mouldy showers, no curtain at the window or around the bath and shower, one toilet out of order, and only three shared toilets for 36 rooms. A toilet roll centre was wedged in a window to hold it open. The drains were blocked, floors flooded, and there was only half a toilet roll between ten people. All the floors were uneven.

I didn’t sleep at all and felt so unsafe. I’ve stayed in shabby places before and can usually manage for one night, but not this time. I felt like I’d been eaten alive all night. It’s the worst hotel on the planet, and I wish I could give it a negative star rating. There was no hot water in the private bathroom, the kettle looked like someone had taken a dump in it, and the carpet looked as if it hadn’t been hoovered in years. The hotel is joined to a snooker hall that stays open until 4am. People were fighting and arguing outside all night, shouting about drugs and all sorts. I’m going to do everything I can to get this place taken off Booking.com. They should be ashamed to advertise it.
