Langwood Hotel

Evenings here have bingo, card bingo and entertainment, with drinks at affordable prices. It’s only a couple of minutes on foot to the beach and tram, and the home-cooked food is amazing, with plenty of familiar choices on the dinner, bed and breakfast deal. The family who run it make sure everyone feels welcome and has what they need. Bedrooms are comfortable and clean, and the showers are reliably warm. It’s better suited to families or solo travellers than stag or hen groups. We love coming here and would definitely return, though it’s best to book early since lots of guests do the same.

We’ve already booked another stay for November. We had a lovely week at the Langwood, with Smiley, his wife Manica, Diddy and Patak looking after us. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and we had no complaints about the service or the sandwiches and snacks available at lunchtime. They also took us on complimentary trips to Cleveleys, Fleetwood and Blackpool. My one small reservation was that I didn’t enjoy the entertainment on a couple of nights as much as I’d hoped, though everyone else seemed happy, so that may just have been me. Smiley understands his guests and his business. Thanks to everyone at the Langwood for a great week.

We chose our evening meal the day before, then had a starter, main and pudding each night. Everything was homemade and excellent, and the service was quick and polite, with hot plates. Our room was clean and in keeping with a regular B&B, with plenty of wardrobe space and everything we needed. The bathrooms are new; the showers were small but nice and hot. There’s free parking outside or on the roadside, and a pleasant part of Bispham is nearby. Smiley and his family made every guest feel special. My nana used to come here with my parents every year, so we expected a warm welcome, and that’s exactly what we got on our first three-night visit with our children, aged 13, 10 and 5. The usual guests may be over 60, but our kids were welcomed and found friends among the hosts’ children. There was bingo, card bingo and popular music every evening. The entertainment leaned toward older guests, but there was something for everyone, and the drinks weren’t expensive. We’ll come back and recommend it to others. Thanks to all the staff, front of house and behind the scenes, for making us feel so well looked after.

I’ve stayed here several times, and the spotless rooms, lovely bathrooms and amazing food keep me coming back. Smiley and the staff are so friendly and attentive. The owner joins in with everything and always makes me laugh. I wouldn’t choose anywhere else. Keep it up, Smiley and all your staff, you’re the best xx
