Paul is such a lovely owner. He always carries our cases to the room and lets us check in early when we need to, if the room is ready. We’ve stayed here lots of times, me and my little boy, whenever we visit Blackpool. It’s a great hotel, only a five-minute walk to the tower, and we got home yesterday after three nights. The rooms are spotless, with a kettle and free tea, coffee and sugar. There’s a TV and DVD player, and the shower’s lovely and hot whenever you want one. Most rooms are en suite. We can leave our cases there on departure day until it’s time to go home, and the front rooms all have a great view of the tower. It’s just perfect. I highly recommend it.

The host was lovely and couldn’t do enough for guests, but I wouldn’t go back to The Mayfair Guest House, not the Shanklin. It wasn’t very clean, and the bedrooms were small, with only three-quarter beds and children’s bunk beds.

Paul’s very friendly and makes you feel welcome. He’ll go out of his way to help, and the hotel’s close to everything. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back. The room was clean and lovely, with a view of the tower 😁. Great place to stay, and I’ll recommend it to friends and family.

For a budget hotel, it was beyond what I expected. Very clean, with a really lovely owner. The location is perfect, 10/10. I’ve stayed in lots of Blackpool hotels, and the Shanklin is now in my top three. Highly recommend it.

The owner was a proper nice bloke, couldn’t do enough for us, and even helped with our bags. I was DJing at a venue on Saturday and arrived Friday. I didn’t want to leave my equipment in the car overnight, so he stored it away and locked it up. The rooms are clean and it’s close to everything, just five minutes’ walk to the tower and right behind coral island, so really central.
