The Smile Hotel

The room looked great, and I liked being able to move around freely at different times of day. Breakfast offered plenty of choice, so I could have toast one morning and fruit and cereal the next. I stayed over Christmas and had a very nice time. I’ll definitely book here again for Christmas or a summer holiday.

The owner was really friendly and helpful, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The shower is a bit small, and the rooms could use a lamp. We were told a bar and full breakfast facilities are being arranged once the relevant licences come through.

I spent five days there, and the rooms felt too small. Not once did anyone ask if things were okay, and our towels weren’t changed. I’ve stayed in hotels around the world, and usually someone checks in, with towels, bed linen and mini toiletries changed every day. The bathroom glass for toothbrushes had red lipstick all over it, so it clearly hadn’t been cleaned after someone else used it. We paid too much for such poor service. We’d have had much better service at the nearby Premier Inn.

Noel, the owner of Smile, is an interesting guy who really cares about Blackpool and his guests. He wants people to feel comfortable and enjoy their stay, and the welcome is warm. The beds are comfy, the place is spotlessly clean, and the location is fab for the price. Smile comes highly recommended.
