Vic was really helpful and knew a lot about the social clubs. He was very chatty too. Our double room was clean and up to standard, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was nicely presented, tasty and good value for money, much better than Spoons. If we return to Blackpool, we’d certainly stay here again. Thanks for all your help, Vic.

It felt like a home from home. We had a lovely stay with the family, and the rooms were spotless and newly refurbished, with really comfy beds. The husband and wife couldn’t do enough for us. Their breakfast, and their cooking in general, was outstanding. I’d definitely stay again.

This place was a diabolical hole where time and cleanliness seemed to stop. The smell throughout the hall was horrible when we arrived. My wife and I waited 20 minutes for someone to greet us before noticing our key had simply been left on the side with a note showing our room number. There were no directions to the room, nobody to welcome us, and no number on the door. The room was dirty, with hairs in the sink and shower, cracked tiles and stains in the bathroom. There was no soap or hygiene stuff at all, not even a bar of soap. It was freezing, and the heating stayed off the whole time. We had a kettle and tea bags but no cups, and only half a used toilet roll. Our booking included a free bottle of wine. When we finally caught up with the guy who seemed to be running the place, we asked if we could swap it for a few cans of Guinness. He agreed to drop them in the room, but after we went out and came back late, there were no beers. The next morning, we found the pack of Guinness opened and half drunk in the downstairs hallway. They also seemed to put all the guests in rooms next to each other, even though many rooms were available. All we heard all night was screaming kids. I wouldn’t recommend the place to an illegal, let alone anyone else.

My sister gave me a Wowcher gift to stay here. After several tries to contact the hotel to register the voucher and book a room, I had to ask Wowcher to get hold of them. We eventually arranged the booking and received a confirmation email. But when I arrived, the place looked as if it hadn’t been open for some time, and nobody answered the phone number provided. I searched online for another way to reach them and found a review from two weeks earlier describing the same situation. The photos in that review showed the hotel looking exactly as it did when we arrived. Why are they taking bookings if they don’t intend to be open for guests? 👎
