Keedwell House

The heating worked well, the carpets are new, and check-in was slick. The public areas were clean too, though the lights take ages to come on, so watch your step on the stairs. The rest of Keedwell Studio Apartments feels worn out. The walls are dirty and full of holes, and the cracked hob looks risky to cook on. The bathroom had just two half rolls of toilet paper, a loose sliding seat, a leaky shower, and a rusty soap dispenser. The shower swung between needle-like pressure and barely working, and there was a lingering mystery smell. In the bedroom, the fold-out mattress was like a medieval torture device. Its cover tried its best, but the quilt and pillows looked battered, and there were food crumbs. The chair had a suspicious stain, drawers were falling apart, and the wardrobe had shattered glass inside. There was even fungus growing above the door, perhaps sentient by now. There was no hospitality tray, so after hours of travelling I had to go out just to get the essentials for a cup of tea. The place has potential, but right now it feels more like a heated escape room than a serviced apartment.
