I visited Riverside for the first time today, on a very sad occasion: a walk in memory of a dear friend. The kind, understanding staff and the setting helped make the end of a difficult day feel joyful. The food and hot drinks were exceptional, and the bar drinks were the cheapest I’ve paid for anywhere. Thank you, and well done to the chef.

The food was delicious, cooked well and presented nicely, and the prices were great for what you get. It was easy to find, too. The atmosphere felt homely, and the staff made us feel very welcome. I’d definitely recommend it.

We only stopped for a meal on the way home from Norfolk, we didn’t stay overnight. The mixed grill and my wife’s ribeye were both very good, beautifully cooked, and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. It was especially nice to see the pub and restaurant being run so well by young people. Whoever trained the staff should be proud, they were faultless.

The rooms are simple but comfortable and good value. There’s a proper old-fashioned pub feel, and the food was good. The staff also gave excellent service.

After going out with our U3A walking group, we came back for lunch and had the three-course Seniors meal for £12.99. The fish pie was superb, and we also enjoyed the chicken goujons starter and homemade apple crumble with custard. Great food and service, highly recommend.
