The pub had a lock-in or something similar on the Friday we stayed, with rowdy singing and noise from the bar until around 3am. Breakfast was poor, with little choice, and the staff seemed put out when I asked for scrambled eggs instead of fried. The dining room badly needed updating too. The room was shabby, dated and quite dirty. It had an old TV, a cramped shower and a pumped type toilet. There was no extractor in the shower room, and the windows and curtains let in noise and light. The floorboards creaked, and the mattress was old. We stayed for one night with my daughter after visiting my other daughter in Lincoln, and I really wish we hadn't. The only positive, I suppose, is that it was just one night. I should've read the other reviews first, since there were similar ones. My wife was too ill to travel and got off lightly. If she'd come with us, we'd have left sooner! Dated December 2014.

The local ales were a nice touch, and the ribs were especially good. We stopped for dinner while visiting the area on a cold December evening. The warm log fire, welcoming staff and quality food made us feel at home.

The Sunday dinner is fantastic :) There’s a well-kept play area out back for the kids, and inside the pub has lovely decor. It’s child-friendly too.

There are only two pubs in the village. This one’s a decent, friendly local, and the prices are reasonable.

It’s sadly gone downhill over the years. When I visited recently there was no real ale and no bar staff, so I left.
