The Castle Inn in Lydford is in a great spot for walks and sightseeing. We had two fantastic nights there, with a comfortable, cosy room and a super king-sized bed. The bar had a good choice of beers and an open fireplace, and both dinner and breakfast were fantastic.

We got the winter deal at a very reasonable price, including a delicious cooked breakfast. Fresh milk was brought to our room in the morning, and the dinner menu was delicious. The rooms were beautiful, and the staff were so friendly. Everything was excellent, and we'd love to return.

We've stayed a couple of times and the surroundings are incredible. The rooms are lovely, and the toiletries were really nice. Everyone on staff is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast and the evening meal are excellent and up to a very high standard. Treat yourselves and enjoy.

I had the Devon Burger and it was fantastic. The La Capra Pizza at our table went down very well, as did the fish and chips. There's plenty of choice for food and drink, including beer, lager and IPA. The pub was cosy, clean and friendly, and service was quick and easy. An absolute 10/10.

The food has a strong selection of pub classics and restaurant dishes, and it was very good. We liked the warm, cosy, inviting traditional setting too. Service was friendly but slow and inattentive, which took away from the experience. I'd still go back.
