The Cumberland Hotel - OCEANA COLLECTION

Ventana Curry Night on Thursday was outstanding value, with plenty of choice. We had Thai chicken, coconut rice, naan, poppadom, samosas and a glass of wine, all for less than £25 each. What’s not to like? We also enjoyed Sunday lunch at Ventana on this trip. It was a well-cooked, tasty roast, served with good service in a spacious restaurant. It was great value and easy to enjoy, though it could have been a little hotter.

I was there for work a few weeks ago, and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. My sea-facing room with a balcony was amazing and clean. I really enjoyed the curry special with a pint, and breakfast started nice and early. It was a very positive stay, and I’ll definitely return next time I’m in town.

The buffet breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in a long time, and the staff were so friendly. Our double room had a modern decor and a nicely done bathroom, with very comfortable beds. The hotel was warm inside, which was much better than being cold, and the drinks weren’t overpriced for a hotel. We’d just come back from a one-night stay at the cumberland hotel. The Christmas decorations made everything feel very festive. We had a lovely steak baguette and salad for lunch too. We couldn’t fault the stay and will definitely return.

We’ve stayed here twice and have enjoyed both visits. The staff are polite and helpful, and they even helped me retrieve something I’d forgotten, which I appreciated. The spa is a nice bonus, and I’m looking forward to coming back in summer. I liked the renovation and the beautiful art deco Furnishings. Our room’s newly installed modern bathroom was clean and comfortable. We could hear people nearby at night, but it wasn’t as noisy as some other hotels in Bournemouth, so the stay was still pleasant. The one hiccup was that we had to separate the beds ourselves to make them twin beds, even though we’d requested that arrangement.
