The Yenton Hotel

I had a really enjoyable stay at this beautiful hotel. The staff were lovely, and it’s in a quiet area about a ten-minute walk from the beach. The area is kept remarkably clean. I met one of the 1000 Dorset Devils, volunteers who pick up litter locally, and they do a fabulous job alongside the council. Coming from the so-called City of Culture for 2022, it was a pleasure to be somewhere people take real pride in keeping things clean. Breakfast was delicious, and they also serve afternoon snacks. There’s a cosy bar and a lovely garden. I’d happily come again with my dog, and hope the new owners maintain the wonderful standards, if the sale goes through. We had a spacious, bright room with plenty of daylight, and the bar was well stocked. The garden was a lovely spot for a cold drink on a warm day. This is a charming little hotel at a reasonable price, with a welcoming B&B feel and friendly staff. Jonathan and the owner were excellent hosts who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. It was nice to chat casually as we passed through reception and the bar. The location is ideal for walking to the beach and several good restaurants.

The breakfast room felt calm and bright, with relaxing music and a lovely view over the private hotel garden. I had the vegetarian cooked breakfast, which was delicious and arrived promptly. The whole hotel was spotless, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Towels and toiletries were provided, and there was great attention to detail throughout. I’d happily recommend staying here.

The hotel has a homely, welcoming feel, and I’d gladly come back. The staff were genuinely helpful and happy to do what they could to make guests comfortable. My single room was spacious enough, with a decent bathroom and shower, toilet and basin. I slept really well, and the breakfasts I ordered on three of my four days were very nice, with plenty of options. It’s around a 10-15 minute walk to the beach and town centre, with lots of nearby restaurants. I had a great long weekend and would rate it 4.5 to 5 stars.
