TravelRest Bournemouth

The rooms are tiny, almost no space beyond the bed, and the walls are so thin you can hear full conversations next door. Cleaning could be better too. There was a cobweb hammock above the toilet the whole two days I stayed. On the plus side, the bathroom and shower were spacious, there’s free parking out front, and it’s handy for both the beach and town centre. The location is great, the bar is large, and the staff are pleasant. Prices do change from one night to another.

We were very happy with our stay and would probably visit again. The hotel is an easy under-five-minute walk from the beach, and parking is included, which plenty of nearby places don’t offer. You can see the sea from the car park, and at the end of the road there’s a clear view of the pier, plus a path down to the beach and a lift for anyone who needs help getting down. Our room was cosy and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and both the lovely breakfast and the room were reasonably priced.

Our room looked onto the main road, so passing cars and bikes revving woke us during the night. Still, for the price, the service was fair and I’d consider TravelRest again next time we’re in Bournemouth. The staff were very polite and seemed genuinely interested in us as customers. The room was basic but adequate, very clean, and had been serviced by the time we returned. We were glad there was a hairdryer in the room instead of having to request one at reception. It’s very close to the beach and shopping centre, though parking on site and on the street is limited. We stayed two nights and left the car parked until departure.

The two rooms we booked for the weekend were a good size and clean, and the location was good. The staff were friendly, and the double bed was comfortable, but one of the single beds had springs that stuck out so much I couldn’t get comfortable. The shower was a problem too: scalding hot on the first day, then no water at all on the second. Noisy drunk guests woke us at 2am and carried on until 3. Breakfast was okay, though one person in our group only had coffee and we were still charged the full £6.50 each.
