The room was compact but cleverly designed, very clean and comfortable, especially the bed. The hotel has a modern, clean feel, and its location is convenient for walking to the city centre, shops, restaurants and transport. The light in my room wasn’t working, but since I was only there one night for a good sleep, it wasn’t a problem for me. I could hear water in the pipes when the next room used the shower or tap, though it didn’t really affect my stay. Breakfast was continental, with a decent selection and good quality.

We were glad to leave in the morning, though had to make our way past addicts between the reception entrance and the train station. The bar staff were fine, and breakfast was decent enough. My partner felt unsafe during a loud, concerning argument between guests. There was shouting through the night, and the noise didn’t finally stop until about 3:30am. The disruption was constant, from the loud dance music and strobe lights in the LG lift, which I found cheesy and pointless, to the guests. The electrics seemed off too: the room lights switched themselves off twice, and the TV kept turning itself back on after we turned it off. We eventually gave up and slept with it on like a huge nightlight for grown-ups. The room was even smaller than the Edinburgh Yotel, which I’d compared to a phone box. This one was a shoebox. We’d stayed at Yotel Edinburgh for a couple of nights just before this, and the two hotels couldn’t have been more different. Edinburgh was relaxed and quiet, with rude, uninterested staff; the Glasgow one had friendly, good staff. We got a discount for booking both stays together, but you’d have to be mentally unstable to pay full rates. This Yotel gimmick is very weird, and we won’t use them again. Maybe I’m getting old!

The location is great, right in central Glasgow opposite Central Station, with restaurants, bars and shops nearby. The rooms are small and basic, but fine for a couple of nights if you keep your expectations modest. On our last night, the whole hotel was evacuated at 2am because of a fire alarm. The alarm and evacuation plan worked, and the hotel apologized to all the guests. These things happen, right? 🤷🏻♂️🙂

We tried this instead of our usual hotel and had a comfortable night. The room was spotless and tidy, with lots of clothes storage, a fridge I hadn’t expected, and a bed that adjusts for sitting up or lying down. The shower was brilliant, the towels huge, and there were nice little extras like a bottle opener. The downsides: no table for dinner, a TV remote that didn’t work, and awful lighting. It also wasn’t ideal having to cross the room in the middle of the night to switch on the toilet light. The staff could be friendlier and acknowledge their guests. Still, a lovely hotel, and we’d stay again.

Room 250 was a lovely corner room with plenty of windows, and the bed and pillows were outstanding. We had a very good breakfast, helpful staff and no complaints at all. Yotel Glasgow is in a nice downtown location, and I was really impressed with our stay. I made the reservation by contacting Wiktoria Morawska, who was a pleasure to communicate with, very professional and extremely helpful. I’d definitely stay again, and we will on the last day of this trip. Highly recommend.
