Urban Beach Hotel

The venue was lovely and the menu had great vegan choices. The food and drinks were good, and most of the staff were excellent. One odd moment: the barman said we couldn't order tequila shots because it “wasn't that type of venue.” There were three of us, all in our late 30s, celebrating my birthday with our children, so we wanted a celebratory shot. Strange, but otherwise a great visit.

We all really enjoyed the food, and there was plenty of variety on the menu. The outdoor dining was a highlight, with a fun, quirky feel. Fire pits and heaters were dotted around to keep everyone warm, and the staff were friendly and attentive. A yummy place to try.

Katy was a lovely hostess, and the place felt friendly. I’d stay again. The room was quiet, had a good TV, and the bed was comfortable. I was glad it wasn’t one of those new foam mattresses that wreck my back. The bathroom was small and a bit awkward for a big guy like me to turn around in, though the shower itself was a great size. Breakfast was quite good, especially the excellent coffee. Dinner was OK, but as a non-Brit I couldn’t really judge the menu because I didn’t understand what was on it. The French fries were delicious, though. I’m not much of a drinker, but the bar had a nice atmosphere from what I saw. Watched some great British game shows, too.

We had a lovely stay for our 10th wedding anniversary and birthday together. They gave us a complimentary liquor drink when we arrived and looked after us really well throughout. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly, and the welcome was warm. Our room was clean, modern and nice. The outside bar area is a lovely spot for a drink, and everything is local and easy to get to. Couldn't fault it. We'll definitely come back for another overnight stay.
