The pool and facilities were great, and both the room and bathroom were very clean. The bed was really comfy, and the location made it easy to get around. We booked a club room with Wi-Fi, breakfast and parking included upfront. A few things didn’t work for me: we paid for parking without being told it’s free at weekends, the breakfast eggs are powdered now instead of fresh, and the bar is very expensive. I’m also not keen on the iPad check-in or the “hi guys” greeting, though that seems to be everywhere.

I was based here for work for over a month and felt really comfortable. After busy days I spent hours relaxing with the team in the pub. Chris is one of my favourite staff members, along with a couple of others, because they go the extra mile and check in on you while you’re there. The food’s good too. The hotel and pub have been fantastic, and I’d recommend staying here.

The pub and grill food was amazing, with outstanding flavour and fresh ingredients. Some of the best food I’ve had at a hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean, well arranged and had everything a tired traveller needs, with comfortable beds and pillows. Booking in was smooth, and the staff were helpful and understanding. I also liked the funny touches on the hotel signs.

We’d heard good things about the Sunday roast and were looking forward to trying it, but they’d just run out. We had burgers instead, and they were nice. It was our first meal at the onsite bar and restaurant since joining the Village gym. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the 25% gym discount helps. We’ll come back and hopefully get the roast next time.

My wife and I had a great night here for a birthday. The bed was really comfortable, and the room was great. We loved the food at the pub and grill, and would definitely recommend trying the interactive darts.
