We loved the warm feel of this hotel, especially after a drizzly, muddy but invigorating walk in the Cotswolds. A roaring fire and candlelight added to the atmosphere, and the interiors and rooms are beautifully put together. Daniela, Annie and the team were so friendly and accommodating, anticipating what we might need and clearly caring about our stay. Their service made a lasting impression. Scott was just as attentive in the restaurant, where we had a special birthday meal: the best scallops I've ever tasted, a fantastic soufflé and generous portions of succulent beef. The hotel has a cosy, luxurious feel and is perfectly placed for exploring the Cotswolds. We appreciated being able to leave the car parked for an extra day after checkout, which meant we could enjoy our final day without worry. We'll definitely return.

The arancini was tasty, nicely presented and fairly priced, but lunch overall was a letdown. The menu felt like an odd mix, though we gave it a chance based on the Google reviews. The Korean Fried Chicken was basically nuggets with an attempt at Asian slaw using sweet chilli, while the burger was like Weatherspoon's quality and came with cold chips. At £20+ a dish, what you get feels poor value. I wouldn't recommend eating here when there are better pubs in the local area outside Bourton on water, or the Fish and Chip shop.

The room view was lovely and the garden was very nice. There are lots of shops and pleasant places nearby, and the staff were really nice. Our first-night dinner in the restaurant was good, though the prices are what you'd expect for this kind of place. The rooms aren't very big, so don't expect much space. There is parking, but the entrance wasn't easy to spot and it took us a while to get in.

The waiters were both friendly and accommodating, and the food and drink were excellent. I had the Moules Mariniere with a Coastal Spritz to eat in, and asked for the Beef Short Rib to take away, which they were able to do. The Moules Mariniere was my favourite.

We were wandering around the village looking for an evening drink and something to eat when we came across the Dial House, set back from the main road. Karl and Leo made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, and their hospitality made the day special. The food was spectacular. Inside and out, the place is a treat to look at, with lovely design, artworks and furnishings. Thanks so much for making us feel welcome.
