We’ll absolutely stay here again when we return. The inn makes a welcoming base for sights around the area, including Vindolanda and the Roman museum, which we visited. The ruins are lovely to look around, though there isn’t much else there. Our room was comfortable and warm, with great beds and a great bathroom. Everyone we met provided exceptional service, friendly, helpful, and kind. Dinner was fab, with good menu choices and great drinks. The fresh food was to a very high standard, and breakfast was wonderful, cooked to order.

We had Sunday lunch here and it was first class, probably the best I’ve ever had. The service was fantastic, and they couldn’t do enough for us despite my wife being gluten and dairy free. I’d highly recommend it.

After a long journey, we had a lovely one night stay. The staff were top class, the room was spotless and cosy, the food was great, and the bar area was lovely. I do have to apologise, though. While unpacking, I realised I’d accidentally taken the hotel supplied shower gel! 😬

After a cold day of walking, it was wonderful to arrive at spotless, warm rooms and enjoy a delicious dinner. Our party of four and our dog got a warm welcome from Carol and Gary. Breakfast was hearty and set us up for another day on foot. Blenkinsopp Castle Inn is perfectly placed for Hadrian’s Wall and many other local walks and sites. The owners go the extra mile to make your stay memorable.

We stayed in our 9m motorhome and found a great spot, close to the Roman Army Museum and a beautiful stretch of Hadrian’s Wall leading to the Milecastle Inn. After a long day exploring, the pub’s relaxed, friendly atmosphere was just right. The food was outstanding, especially the sirloin surf and turf, which was spot-on. Highly recommend!
