Quality City Apartments

The only real pluses were the secure parking and being near town. The bathrooms were moldy, there was no fan or air conditioning, and the rooms became like a furnace in summer. The whole apartment complex smelled like a trash bin, and there was no service to speak of. It also felt like a ghetto. Sheets and linens weren't changed. When I asked, someone handed me a fresh set and told me to deal with it because no staff were around. The reception desk never answered calls and closed at 5 pm. One of the worst places I've stayed.

The location was the only upside. The rooms were bad, the mattresses smelled awful, and all the drains were clogged. If you complain too much, they tell you to move out. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

The price is good for an acceptable apartment, as long as you aren't expecting luxury. The reception serves both Dyersgate and Roman Wall. The staff are easily the best part: very kind and always willing to help. If nobody's at the desk, call their mobile, since they may be helping another guest.

I rented the top floor for a work assignment for about a year, in 2009-2010. Back then there weren't any Eastern European sex workers. Pity. I remember someone mentioning rubbish smells in the lobby. The bins were kept close by in a sort of side hallway behind a door. I didn't run into that often, since most days I took the lift from my flat to the car park. When I walked through the lobby to head into the city centre for food or go for a run, though, I did notice the smell.
