The Exchange Coach House Inn

We stayed for a week because of work, and it turned out to be one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. The staff were very friendly, including in the bar, and the food was lovely. The room was clean, and I had one of the best nights’ sleep in a long time. We’ll be back.

We stayed for two nights in The exchange, in a room above the bar. I’d been a bit worried about noise, but it was actually pretty quiet, and the room was clean and cosy. We couldn’t park on-site, so we used a public car park that was free for the weekend, just a two minute walk away. The reception is conveniently also a bar, 'The Doghouse'. The service there was lovely, and all the staff seemed happy and chatted with us. There’s plenty to offer across the two bars and two restaurants. We’ll come back next time we need a hotel in North Lincolnshire.

My room was right over the men’s bathrooms in the bar, and I was kept awake all night by hand dryers, shouting, and vomiting. The bar was still serving at 5am when I came to check out, with drunk people running around the halls. One room hadn’t been cleaned when we arrived, so my friends had nowhere to check in. Genuinely awful.

We checked in as a party of six, and the man at reception was a mess and not welcoming. The rooms were disgusting: black, dirty, sticky carpets, old beds with springs sticking out of the mattresses, and a gross smell. One toilet still had a deposit in it. We checked out straight away. There’s no way this place has legitimate reviews. It shouldn’t be on the map. No lie, the online photos are not what you get.
