The Priory Cellars Abbots Leigh

We had one of the best nights’ sleep we can remember in these cosy cellars. We visited in November and worried it might be cold, but it was warm, with extra heaters and blankets available. The high ceilings mean it doesn’t feel claustrophobic, and the historic character is lovely. Nick showed us around, talked about the history and shared tips about Bristol and the local area. He was a superb host. The cellars have everything you might need, whether you’re staying briefly or for longer, including a dishwasher, washing machine and coffee maker. We’d definitely recommend it.

Nick greeted us on arrival and was really friendly, with lots of local knowledge. The house is amazing, and the cellar is spacious, clean and equipped with everything we needed. We loved our stay while visiting a festival and would highly recommend it. Thanks, Nick. It’s just over a mile from Clifton Suspension Bridge and chic Clifton Village, with good pavements and a cycleway for the walk. On the way, you can pass Bristol’s beautiful Downs, with its country manor, golf course, mountain bike trails and walking routes.

The apartment is spacious and has everything you need for a few days away. The orangery is especially lovely on rainy days, and the owner is very friendly. A great place to stay.

Lovely hosts and a unique place, with everything you might need. We also enjoyed breakfast at the "Bike Shed" just down the road.
