We finally found a good Sunday lunch at The Railway Inn. We only went for lunch, so I can't say anything about the rooms. The roast turkey dinner came with pigs in blankets, crispy roast potatoes, a huge Yorkshire pudding and a whole dish of vegetables. The cauliflower cheese was very good too. Service was quick and the price was very good. We had no room left for pudding, so we'll just have to come back!

My husband, some friends and I went to The Railway Inn for the Seniors Christmas lunch on 1 December. I believe we were their first visitors for the Christmas lunch. From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us like royalty. The young man who greeted us was a star all through the visit, as were the waitresses. I wish I had caught his name. The meal and dessert were delicious. It was the best Christmas meal I've ever had in a restaurant. Congratulations to the chef and the wonderful staff.

The gardens and dining areas were where we spent our time, as we didn’t use the hotel rooms. It felt relaxed while still being run very professionally, and the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. There was a good choice of really tasty food. Just excellent!

We found getting around easy, with a bus stop right outside, and there was a steam train passing just beyond the station, a lovely little detail. The Railway Inn in Brixham made us feel very welcome over our three nights. The bar staff were great, especially the friendly dark-haired guy, and the chefs deserve a big thanks for the excellent meals. A warm place with great food and service, highly recommended.
